Don’t fall short with your health goals. Embrace the Fall season and hike your way to a healthier, happier you!
Did you know? Men are newly diagnosed with heart disease about 10 years younger than women and are 2 times more likely to suffer a heart attack than women. There are many ways to reduce your risk of heart disease:
- Be smoke-free
- Staying physically active
- Eating a healthy diet
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Limiting alcohol use
Dr. Lee is reminding everyone, especially men during this Men’s Health Month, to include some movement in your day! According to Canadian Guidelines, adults (aged 18-64 years) are encouraged to perform a variety of types and intensities of physical activity:
- Achieve at least 2.5 hours a week of activity for health benefits
- Incorporate moderate to vigorous aerobic physical activities to at least 150 minutes per week
- Do muscle strengthening exercises at least twice per week
Remember, a physical activity plan should always be both safe and fun – consult with a healthcare professional like Dr. Lee for tips and advice!
